Top Seven Saturday: Top 7 Most Horrifying Fictional Worlds

In most books I read, the author has to create a world that their characters live in. A lot of the time, the world would be terrible if you actually lived in it.

7. Breathe by Sarah Crossan
In this world, all the trees are dead, the oceans are too polluted to give you oxygen, and you have to live in a dome of die. Sounds pretty bad right?

6. 172 Hours on the Moon by Johan Harstad
The overall Earth is not at all bad. It is happy, giggly old Earth. But the Moon, Oh God, the Moon is bad. There is something up there that makes the moon the scares place ever. NO JUST NO!

5. A Girl Called Fearless by Catherine Linka
This world has one major problem, but it is only the US, and it only effects women. In meat, there was an untested thing in it that gave women ovarian cancer, and killed all the women with working ovaries. After all the deaths, men decided to take away all rights of women and make them pets. EEW!

4. Dust Lands by Moira Young
This one is more post-apocalyptic, and it is just sand. Sand everywhere. There is a totalitarian government that is killing people, and seizing their land. Killing the weak, and stealing the strong for their own selfish needs. It is just bad!  for everyone.

3. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
Aliens. Aliens that you can't tell the differecen between humans and the Others. The are trying to kill all the humans, so they can have the world for themselves. You are by yourself because the 3rd wave killed your family. You can't use electronics because the 1st wave took care of that. They pushed everyone inland with wave 2. Wave 4 took away your sanity, and your trust. It sucks.

2. V for Vendetta by Alan Moore and David Lloyd
Typical dystopian, but with a crazy terrorist.

1. More Than This by Patrick Ness
This is a world where everything is just gone. You have minimal danger, but you are just alone, and you have to live inside your own head. You basically go crazy unless you can survive, and find someone else. If there is anyone else, anyway.

Now everyone go be thankful for your world not being like this!

XOXO,
Belle
